Assignment/Activities Today

7th Grade

• Collect Science Fair Materials
• Make up any missing assignments before break
• If time permits continue Steps of Meiosis Presentation
• Each slide will have a description of the step as well as a picture and title.
• Add an overall Title slide for a total of 9 slides
• Science Fair Experiment Presentation – The Effects of Different Soils on a Bean Plant
• Today we will make Day 7 Observations both subjective and objectively
• Chart the Data
• Science Fair Procedures Due Friday January 14, 2011

8th Grade

• Collect Science Fair Materials
• Chapter 5 Quiz – Elements, Compounds and Mixtures
• Time Permitting and if Incomplete Common Compounds Presentation
• In each case students will: Write the Chemical Formula, Write the Individual Component Elements, Determine What it is Used For, Determine Where it Might be Found, Find a Picture of the Compound.
• Each Compound Will Have it’s Own Slide
• Each Presentation will Have a Title Slide
• There will be a Total of 10 Slides
• The Compounds to be presented are Sodium Chloride, Carbon Dioxide, Calcium Carbonate, Ammonia, Magnesium Oxide, Hydrogen Peroxide, Sodium Bicarbonate, Hydrogen Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide
• Science Fair Experiment Presentation – The Effects of Different Soils on a Bean Plant
