Assignment/Activities Today

7th Grade

  • Discuss Systems of the Body
  • With the use of the Body Model Pull Out the Various Organs and Associate Them With a Body System
  • Use the Body Model to Point Out Several Muscles
  • Chapter 16 Vocabulary (see vocabulary page for terms)
  • Brainpop Q&A – Circulatory System
  • If Incomplete Students Will Have a Few Minutes to Put any Finishing Touches on Student Presentation – Muscles of the Body.  It Will Be Collected as is at the End of the Period.
  • Muscles for Exploration
    • Rectus Femoris, Gastrocnemius, Quadratus Plantae, Biceps Femoris, Palmaris Longus, Deltoid, Latissimus Dorsi, Trapezius, Biceps Brachii and Triceps Brachii
  • Each Slide Will Have The Following
    • Title
    • Bullet Telling the Muscles Location on the Body
    • Bullet Describing the Muscles Function
    • Bullet Labeling the Muscle as a Flexor or Extensor
    • Picture of the Muscle

8th Grade

  • Introduction to Chapter 14 – Forces in Fluids
  • Imagine You Are in Control of Deep Flight a Revolutionary New Undersea Vessel
  • Read Through Chapter Opener as a Class
  • Read and Discuss Pgs 406-407
  • As a Group Complete “Math Focus” on Pg. 407
  • Pressure = Force/Area
  • Chapter 14 Vocabulary (see vocabulary page for terms)
  • Brainpop Q&A – Weather
  • If Incomplete Students Will Have a Few Minutes to Put any Finishing Touches on Student Presentation – Newton’s Laws. It Will Be Collected as is at the End of the Period.
  • Each preso will contain 10 slides. 1 -Intro slide, 3- 1st Law slides, 3- 2nd Law slides & 3- 3rd Law slides
  • The Three 1st Law slides (title, bullet & photo) will include – the law itself (title & definition), a picture depicting the law and an explanation of why that picture is an example of said law
  • The Three 2nd Law slides (title, bullet & photo) will include – the law itself (title & definition), a picture depicting the law and an explanation of why that picture is an example of said law
  • The Three 3rd Law slides (title, bullet & photo) will include – the law itself (title & definition), a picture depicting the law and an explanation of why that picture is an example of said law
